As Toronto is heading towards the critical phase in the Covid-19 pandemic, healthcare systems are under increased strain. Healthcare frontlines are facing shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) supply, such as masks, gloves, isolation gowns and respirators. Since the beginning of the virus outbreak, some of them have become infected with the virus. The workforce is increasingly stretched, and medical resources become scarce. Frontline healthcare workers need our support for all communities to help battle this war.
To show frontline health care workers our support and appreciation, Dr. Joseph Y. K. Wong, Founder and Chair Emeritus, Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care, and past Chair, United Way of Greater Toronto, has partnered with different charity and community organizations, volunteers and municipal governments to launch #StopCovid19., a fundraising campaign to source personal protective equipment for our frontline healthcare heroes.
By mobilizing Canadians coming from different backgrounds, showing solidarity with the healthcare professionals and our country, together, we will stop Covid-19!
